Passenger arriving from Jeddah held with smuggled gold at Ahmedabad airport

Ahmedabad: For the second consecutive day, smuggled gold has been seized at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad. On Thursday, customs officials intercepted a passenger carrying approximately 419 grams of gold.
The passenger, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had arrived on IndiGo flight 6E-076 from Jeddah to Ahmedabad, which landed at 7:46 am. Officials became suspicious of his behavior and conducted a thorough inspection of his luggage.
Upon checking, the officers found rhodium-coated gold wire weighing 419 grams, valued at ₹41.32 lakh. The man was arrested, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
