Ford officials to meet Narendra Modi on Thursday

With 400 acre car manufacturing plant plus 100 acre ancillary plant on cards, top officials of Ford India Pvt. Ltd, the local unit of Michigan-based Ford Motor Co. are to meet Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Thursday in Gandhinagar. An MoU will be signed at 11.00 am on the ninth floor of block no. 1 according to sources. As per the government officials close to this development, the plant proposes initial investment of Rs. 5,000 crore and will have initial production capacity of 300,000 units annually. Ford is planing to introduce 8 new models by 2015, and therefore expansion is crucial for the company.
