Railway Police seizes 1,200 kg beef at Vadodara Railway Station

Vadodara: In a major bust, the Railway Police seized more than 1,200 kg of cow meat (beef) from the Golden Temple Express at Vadodara railway station on Wednesday. The meat, packed in 16 boxes and hidden in the last coach of the Amritsar-to-Mumbai train, was confirmed to be beef after forensic analysis. An FIR was filed in the case on Friday.
Superintendent of Police Saroj Kumari from Western Railways said the action followed a tip-off, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible. Animal rights activist Neha Patel stated that the information about the beef smuggling came from Punjab-based Gurpreet Singh, and it was meant to be offloaded in Mumbai.
