Ahmedabad Airport issues passenger advisory amid heightened airport security
May 09, 2025
Ahmedabad: Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in the city has issued a passenger advisory, urging customers to arrive well in advance as there may be longer wait times at the airport in light of heightened security measures.
The airport, in the advisory, said, “In view of enhanced security measures, passengers may experience longer wait times at the airport. We recommend arriving well in advance to ensure a smooth travel experience. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.”
This comes after all major airlines on Thursday issued advisories asking passengers to arrive at least three hours prior to the departure time of their flights, following an order from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for heightened security at airports nationwide. As per the BCAS directive, an additional layer of screening—Secondary Ladder Point Check (SLPC)—will now be mandatory before boarding. Entry for visitors into terminal buildings has also been restricted amid the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. —DeshGujarat
