16 school teachers sacked in Ahmedabad for violating private tuition ban
July 15, 2025
Ahmedabad: Sixteen teachers working in government schools have been ousted from their jobs after they were found giving private tuition despite a government ban.
In response to public complaints, the District Education Offices (DEOs) for Ahmedabad city and rural zones issued circulars to school managements, instructing them to identify and take action against such violations. Following internal probes, five teachers in the city and eleven in rural areas were either dismissed or made to resign. The schools involved include Arjun English School, Mission School, Mahavir High School, Divine Birds School, SS Divine, Ambika, Tirupati, Swaminarayan, Super, and KR Raval.
To curb the practice, DEO teams have begun conducting surprise inspections. Officials confirm that the crackdown will intensify with continued cooperation from school managements.
