MLA seeks Disturbed Areas Act implementation in 21 societies of Limbayat in Surat
August 25, 2025
Surat: Limbayat MLA Sangeeta Patil raised several civic and safety issues during the district coordination committee meeting held last week. One of her major demands was the imposition of the Disturbed Areas Act in around 21 societies of Ward No. 19, including Vrindavan Row Houses, Vrindavan Flats, Gokuldham, Om Sai, Nilkanth Society, Ravi Ashish, Jain Nagar, and Shyam Vatika, citing the majority Hindu population and the need to maintain law and order.
Patil also highlighted that the Limbayat zone, with a population of nearly 15 lakh, lacks a government bus stand and urged immediate action to set one up. She further pointed out that residents are forced to travel to Athwalines for essential services like senior citizen cards, domicile certificates, and widow assistance applications, and demanded that a Jan Seva Kendra be established within Limbayat itself.
