Gujarat CM OKays ₹2,609 Crore for Rural Road Resurfacing

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today announced that Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has approved ₹2,609 crore for resurfacing and related works on priority plan roads under panchayats across all districts of the state.
Of this amount, the resurfacing and related works will cover 487 roads totaling 1,609 km in North Gujarat, 499 roads totaling 1,528 km in South Gujarat, and 272 rural roads totaling 1,059 km in Saurashtra.
Responding promptly to requests from public representatives, rural citizens, and leaders for all-weather road facilities, the Chief Minister has allocated these funds for the repair and resurfacing of 1,258 roads spanning 4,196 km across rural areas.
Once the resurfacing and other related works are completed, the rural road network will be strengthened, improving connectivity and making transportation between smaller villages and towns more convenient. DeshGujarat
