AMC razes BRTS corridor between Delhi Darwaza and Prem Darwaza
September 02, 2025
Ahmedabad: To ease heavy traffic between Delhi Darwaza and Prem Darwaza, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has begun demolishing the BRTS corridor on the stretch. The move comes after repeated appeals from Dariapur MLA Kaushik Jain, along with recommendations from traffic police and experts.
According to AMC officials, both SVNIT and CEPT University were consulted before taking the decision. The demolition work started on Monday, though a decision on removing bus stands located in the middle of the road is still pending. Jain said several accidents had been reported on the stretch, including the recent death of a sanitation worker, prompting residents to demand its removal. DeshGujarat
