AHNA launches Insurance Assistance Service to help patients contest claim rejections
September 10, 2025
Ahmedabad: To assist patients in contesting rejected claims and unjustified deductions by insurance companies, the Ahmedabad Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (AHNA) on Wednesday announced the launch of Insurance Assistance Services. The facility will be available across its 1,200 member hospitals.
“Over time, our hospitals have witnessed an increasing number of claim rejections and unexplained deductions, leaving families under financial strain after essential treatment. The Insurance Assistance Services provides patients with a structured and ethical process to review their cases, address documentation gaps, and pursue fair settlements with insurers,” AHNA Vice-President Dr. Viren Shah said in a statement.
While acknowledging the importance of insurance and fraud prevention, AHNA emphasized that legitimate claims must be settled in a timely and transparent manner. The association will charge patients either ₹1,000 or 1% of the claim amount as facilitation fees, with the process handled internally by AHNA.
AHNA clarified that the service is not a legal remedy, carries no guarantee of results, and will not support fraudulent or inflated claims. It will strictly focus on safeguarding patient interests and ensuring due process. DeshGujarat
