Surat Police Invoke GujCTOC Against Saddam-Godil Gang in 13 Criminal Cases
September 19, 2025
Surat: The police have invoked the Gujarat Control of Terrorism and Organised Crime Act (GujCTOC) against three members of the Saddam-Godil gang, who are facing 13 serious criminal cases. The accused booked under GujCTOC—Imtiyaz Saddam, Faisal Saddam, and Shahid Godil—have allegedly been involved in multiple incidents of robbery, extortion, assault, and property-related crimes across Adajan, Rander, Mahidharpura, Athwalines, Chowk Bazar, Lalgate, and other parts of the city.
The police sought court permission to apply GujCTOC sections as the gang has repeatedly been involved in extortion, looting, and cheating in land and property transactions, following a case registered against the gang for the loot of Rs. 6.70 lakh in Chowk Bazar.
The accused are also alleged to have collected protection money from local traders through threats and intimidation. Cases against them have been registered across DCB, Varachha, Athwalines, Lalgate, Amroli, Chowk Bazar, and Mahidharpura police stations.
Investigations further link the gang to crypto, hawala, and other economic offences. Faisal Saddam has fled to Dubai after being named in several cases, prompting police to issue a Lookout Circular (LOC) against him. DeshGujarat
