Dwarka authorities raze illegal religious encroachment along National Highway
September 22, 2025
Dwarka: The district authorities today launched a drive to remove illegal religious structures constructed on state-owned property. The operation is being carried out in the presence of senior officials, including the District Collector, Superintendent of Police (SP), Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), and Deputy SP.
The drive targets unauthorized religious constructions on government land beside the National Highway in Bardiya and Okhamadhi villages. Over the years, several religious structures were built illegally on these lands, despite prior notices sent by the administration asking occupants to vacate voluntarily. As the occupants did not comply, the authorities decided to take strict action.
The operation began at 10:00 am today with a large deployment of police forces to ensure law and order. To prevent any conflict or opposition, bulldozers were used under tight police supervision to dismantle the illegal structures. DeshGujarat
