Dahod: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat today nabbed two forest department staffers in Chakaliya for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 11,000.
One of the accused, Sureshsinh Barad, was posted as Bitguard in Chakaliya West, while the other accused, Sunilbhai Pargi, was working as a daily wager in the Forest Department.
As per the ACB, the complainant, along with ten others, was grazing cattle on forest department land when the accused confronted them, demanding a fine for trespassing. Initially, the accused demanded Rs. 2,000 per person but later agreed to accept Rs. 1,000 per person, totaling Rs. 11,000.
Unwilling to pay the bribe, the complainant lodged a formal complaint, after which the ACB planned and executed a trap. During the operation, accused Sureshsinh directed the complainant to hand over the bribe to Sunilbhai Pargi. Both accused engaged in purposeful communication regarding the bribe over the phone. The ACB intercepted the transaction and recovered the entire amount of Rs. 11,000, apprehending both accused at the spot. DeshGujarat
