Two Judges of Gujarat High Court Transferred to MP, AP
October 14, 2025
Gandhinagar: The Central government has issued a notification transferring Gujarat High Court judges Justice Sandeep Bhatt and Justice C.M. Roy to the Madhya Pradesh High Court and Andhra Pradesh High Court, respectively. Justice Roy had previously been transferred from the Andhra Pradesh High Court in November 2023.
The Gujarat High Court Advocates’ Association (GHAA) had earlier voiced strong opposition to Justice Bhatt’s proposed transfer. A committee from the association was formed to meet the Chief Justice of India to convey its objections. In protest, advocates at the Gujarat High Court had decided to abstain from work.
A special meeting of the GHAA was also convened, during which members unanimously resolved to oppose what they termed the sudden and unjustified transfer of Justice Bhatt and to continue their protest by staying away from court proceedings. DeshGujarat
