Night-Time Traffic Restrictions on Two Bridges, Underpass in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) N N Chaudhary has issued multiple notifications restricting traffic movement on Gandhi Bridge, Cadila Bridge, and Shahibaug Underbridge in the city during night hours. The restrictions, in effect from 11 pm to 6 am, have been imposed due to ongoing infrastructure work.

According to the first notification, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has begun maintenance on Gandhi Bridge with contractor Rajkamal Builders Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, including gantry installation and related repairs on the Delhi Darwaza–Income Tax side. One carriageway will be closed from November 29 to December 1 between 11 pm and 6 am, while the opposite lane will remain open.

The second restriction is on Cadila Bridge, where work for the bullet train project between Sabarmati and Vatva is ongoing. Due to technical issues and railway scheduling, the project deadline has been extended to December 15. As a result, approximately 600 metres of the central BRTS road on the bridge will be closed during night hours.

The third notification states that Western Railway will carry out track strengthening and plate replacement on Shahibaug Underbridge. Consequently, the entry and exit points of the underbridge will remain closed from November 29 to December 8 between 11 pm and 6 am. Traffic from Delhi Darwaza and Subhash Bridge toward the airport and Gandhinagar will be diverted via Shilalekh Flats and the Riverfront Road. DeshGujarat
