Ahmedabad: Vastrapur Lake is set to reopen to the public after a major renovation costing over Rs 10 crore. The redevelopment, undertaken by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), is expected to be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in the first week of December.
As part of the upgrade, AMC has announced entry fees effective from January 1, 2026. General admission will be Rs 10 per person, while children aged five to twelve will be charged Rs 5. Entry will remain free between 6 am and 10 am. Paid slots will be from 10 am to 12 pm and 2 pm to 10 pm. Regular visitors can also purchase a monthly pass for Rs 300, with an eleven-month pass offering a one-month free concession. Tickets can be purchased via QR code or in cash.
Notably, entry will also be free for senior citizens above 65 and freedom fighters, subject to showing proper identification. Differently-abled persons and children below the age of five will also not be charged any entry fee.
The revamped lake will also include a dedicated pet care corner for morning walkers. Visitors can leave their pets at the facility free of cost, with an instructor present to supervise them. The centre can accommodate up to 15 pets at a time. DeshGujarat
