Over 8,000 items left behind at Ahmedabad airport in 3 months

Ahmedabad: More than 8,000 items were left behind by passengers at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport in the city over the last three months, according to airport officials. These items have been deposited in the airport’s lost and found section, where they can be claimed by passengers with valid identity proof.

The most commonly forgotten items include data cables, belts, chargers, neck pillows, and watches. Other frequently misplaced belongings include AirPods, carry bags, glasses, purses, and mobile phones.

Airport authorities said many passengers forget their belongings during security checks or in a rush near boarding gates, while some even leave items behind while hurrying to taxis after flights.

Monthly data shows that passengers left behind 2,200 items in September, 3,000 items in October, and 2,800 items in November, bringing the three-month total to over 8,000.

Officials noted that forgetfulness at airports is a global phenomenon. Busy international hubs like Heathrow in London and airports in New York record even higher numbers of forgotten items due to heavy passenger traffic. DeshGujarat
