Gujarat govt holds dialogue in New Delhi to promote Kutch-Saurashtra VGRC 2026

New Delhi: On the lines of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, the state government is organising the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) to promote balanced regional development and inclusive growth across the state. The VGRC for the Saurashtra–Kutch region is scheduled to be held in Rajkot from January 10 to 12, 2026, as part of the four planned regional editions.
In the run-up to the conference, and to attract domestic and foreign investors, the state government organised a dialogue session in New Delhi on Friday, December 12, to present the features of VGRC and brainstorm on sectors with high development potential.
Aligned with the theme of “regional aspirations, global aspirations” and the goal of building inclusive, innovative and sustainable economies, Gujarat’s strengths and opportunities were showcased during the dialogue, the state government said.
Discussions centred on cooperation opportunities in key sectors such as fisheries, ports, Dholera SIR, tourism, and the scope for enhanced B2B engagements. Officials also highlighted the advantages of becoming a partner country in VGRC, along with networking prospects and logistical support.
Industries Commissioner Shri P. Swarup shared details of the success of the first VGRC for the North Gujarat region held in Mehsana and briefed participants on investment MoUs worth ₹3.24 lakh crore signed during the event.
Representatives from more than 20 countries participated in the dialogue, including Russia, Israel, Singapore, UAE, Indonesia, New Zealand, Finland, Canada, Sri Lanka, Oman, Iceland, Guyana, Rwanda, South Africa, Qatar, Tanzania, Uganda and Uzbekistan.
