Ankleshwar police nabs five after fake crime-style reel goes viral

Ankleshwar: A promotional video created by a private auto consultancy firm in Ankleshwar has resulted in the arrest of five individuals after they staged a fake crime scene on a public road as part of a marketing stunt.

The reel, posted on social media by Patel Auto Consultants, located opposite Sargam Complex on ONGC Road, depicted scenes resembling a real-life act of violence. After the clip went viral, Ankleshwar A-Division Police launched an inquiry.

According to police, the firm’s manager and his associates attempted to create a dramatic “crime-style” promotional reel. In the staged sequence, a black Scorpio vehicle is seen speeding toward the shop and stopping abruptly, following which three to four individuals carrying sticks step out of the vehicle and vandalize a motorcycle parked on the roadside.

The sequence was filmed and edited to resemble CCTV footage and was circulated online as an advertisement. Police stated that the act caused unnecessary panic among viewers and posed a potential risk to public safety.

Following verification of the video, the police registered a case and arrested the manager of Patel Auto Consultants, Zakir Siraj Bhaiyat, along with Z. Zahid Khan Patel, Minaj Babubhai Patel, Shebaz Shabbirbhai Vohra, and Ehjaz Ayub Patel. They have been booked on charges including violation of public notification, endangering human life, and creating obstruction by parking a vehicle on a public road. The accused have been remanded to judicial custody, police said, adding that such irresponsible acts carried out under the guise of marketing will not be tolerated. DeshGujarat
