New 1,030-Meter Katargam – Amroli Flyover Bridge in Surat to Open Soon
January 17, 2026
SURAT – Commuters traveling between Katargam and Amroli will soon experience significant relief from persistent traffic congestion as a new flyover bridge nears completion. The structure, which spans 1,030 meters (approximately 1 km), is designed to provide a direct link from Katargam Kasar Nagar to the Amroli-Kosad area.
The two-lane bridge, often referred to as the Ratnamala Bridge, is specifically intended to ease the heavy flow of vehicles during the evening rush hour. By crossing over the busy Gajera Circle and Ratnamala Char Rasta, the bridge allows travelers to bypass junctions that are frequently gridlocked. This is especially beneficial for those traveling from Dabholi toward Ashwani Kumar Road, as they often rely on these busy intersections.
The bridge passes several prominent landmarks in the Katargam area, including the Katargam Lake Garden, the Katargam GIDC, and the Hindu Milan Mandir. Other nearby institutions and sites that will benefit from the diverted traffic include Gajera School, the Millennium Market, and a local Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) office.
As of the latest reports, the bridge is in its final stages, with painting and finishing work currently underway. While the bridge is prepared for full use, it is expected to initially open for one-way traffic to facilitate commuters heading toward Amroli, with both sides becoming operational shortly thereafter.
This infrastructure project marks another step in developing Surat’s transport network, effectively connecting the Katargam Ashram and Kasar Nagar regions to the northern residential hubs of Amroli and Kosad.
