Stone-pelting during wedding procession in Satlasana village, woman injured

Satlasana: An incident of stone-pelting during a wedding procession has been reported from Bedsma village in Satlasana taluka of Mehsana district. A woman was injured after a group of seven persons from the same community allegedly objected to the procession and threatened the groom’s family. Satlasana police have registered a case against the accused and launched an investigation.

According to the complaint, the wedding procession of Navghansinh, son of Pradhanji Chauhan, was proceeding through the village on the evening of January 23 with a band and music. When the procession reached the village square, relatives were performing garba and ras. At that time, two villagers Kalusinh Rangatsinh Chauhan and Rajdeepsinh Kalusinh Chauhan allegedly began abusing the family and questioned why the groom had come out in a procession.

The situation escalated as more individuals joined them, and the group allegedly started pelting stones at the groom’s horse, triggering panic and a stampede. In the incident, Udalba Siddhraj Singh, a relative of the groom, sustained an injury to her right elbow and was rushed to Satlasana Civil Hospital for treatment.

Pradhanji Chauhan later filed a complaint at Satlasana police station, in which seven people have been booked. Police said further legal action is underway. DeshGujarat
