January 28, 2026
Ahmedabad: The immigration department at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport detained an individual from Porbandar for allegedly attempting to travel to London using suspicious visa documents.
As per the details, Ranjit V. Khunti had boarded an Air India flight bound for London when immigration officials found discrepancies in the documents he presented. Khunti, a resident of Bakharla village in Porbandar, submitted a ‘share code’ issued by the UK government to verify his immigration status. However, when officers checked the code on the UK online portal, the system displayed a message stating, “The detail does not match our record.”
Following the verification failure, officials suspected the visa documents to be fake. The police seized the accused’s passport, boarding pass, and copies of the alleged forged visa. Khunti was arrested, and further investigation is underway to determine the source of the fake documents and whether any agents were involved. DeshGujarat
