Ahmedabad RTO blacklists over 8,300 commercial vehicles
February 03, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Regional Transport Office (RTO) has launched strict action against vehicle owners who have failed to pay road tax in Ahmedabad. As part of the drive, around 8,300 commercial vehicles that have not paid taxes for the last three years have been blacklisted.
The RTO department has issued notices to all blacklisted vehicle owners. The notice clearly states that the vehicles will be removed from the blacklist only after the pending tax is paid along with the applicable penalty.
According to officials, 6,500 commercial vehicles have been blacklisted under the Ahmedabad RTO, while 1,800 vehicles have been blacklisted under the Vastral RTO.
The prolonged non-payment of road tax had caused significant financial losses to the government. Authorities expect that the crackdown will lead to improved tax recovery in the coming days. DeshGujarat
