Former Waghodia PI Prithvirajsinh Jadeja Suspended

Vadodara: In a significant development linked to the smuggling of foreign liquor and alleged negligence by local police in Waghodia, then Police Inspector Prithvirajsinh Jadeja of Waghodia Police Station has been suspended.

On the night of January 9, acting on a tip-off, the SMC (State Monitoring Cell) raided a foreign liquor cutting and distribution point located behind the Waghodia bus stand. During the operation, officials seized 6,129 bottles of foreign liquor valued at approximately ₹17 lakh and arrested nine individuals, including the bootlegger and the supplier of the liquor consignment. Investigators also recovered nine diaries considered crucial evidence in the case.

Preliminary scrutiny of the diaries reportedly revealed records of financial transactions amounting to crores of rupees. Significantly, the documents also contained phone numbers and contact details of several police personnel, raising suspicion of possible collusion.

The matter subsequently reached the state police chief, following which disciplinary proceedings were initiated. PI Prithvirajsinh Jadeja was first transferred from Waghodia Police Station to Sinor Police Station and has now been placed under suspension. DeshGujarat
