Acting on the complaint, a Food Safety Officer (FSO) from the AMC’s Health Department inspected the food unit under the provisions of the FSSAI and GPMC Acts. During the inspection, the complainant reportedly showed a photograph of the food item in which the lizard was found. Officials stated that the complaint was verified during the on-site inspection.
The inspection also revealed serious hygiene violations at the restaurant, including significant dirt and live insects inside the deep freezer on the premises.
Based on these deficiencies and in the interest of public health, AMC officials sealed the food unit with immediate effect for an indefinite period, the press note said. DeshGujarat
