State Intelligence Bureau Officer Caught in ₹80,000 Bribery Trap by ACB Gujarat

Gandhinagar: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Sunday successfully trapped a senior officer of the State Intelligence Bureau while allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹80,000 in Gandhinagar.
The accused has been identified as Ketanbhai Girishbhai Dave, Senior Intelligence Officer with the State Intelligence Bureau, posted at the Sanand Centre of the Ahmedabad Region.
According to ACB officials, an alert citizen had approached the bureau with a complaint stating that the officer had demanded a bribe of ₹80,000 for sending a positive opinion on the renewal of police protection granted to the complainant.
As the complainant was unwilling to pay the bribe, he informed the ACB. Acting on the complaint, the bureau laid a trap on March 15, 2026.
During the operation, the accused allegedly accepted the bribe amount of ₹80,000 from the complainant inside the complainant’s car near Sargasan Chowkdi in Gandhinagar, on the road opposite Gathiya Rath. ACB officials immediately caught the accused red-handed and recovered the entire bribe amount.
The trap operation was carried out by ACB Gandhinagar Unit Field Police Inspector H.B. Chavda under the supervision of Assistant Director A.K. Parmar, while Deputy Director Haresh Mewada of the Ahmedabad ACB served as the officer-in-charge.
ACB officials have registered a case against the accused for criminal misconduct under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway. DeshGujarat
