April 01, 2026
Ahmedabad: The Amdavad Municipal Corporation has initiated plans to develop a landmark urban project, ‘City Square’, on Sindhu Bhavan Road (SBR), with tenders invited for the project estimated at ₹522.22 crore.
The project, first announced nearly three years ago, is now moving towards execution. Once completed, the City Square tower will rise to a height of 175 metres, comparable to a building with over 50 floors, making it one of the tallest structures in Ahmedabad.
Planned as a modern urban plaza, the development will integrate leisure, dining, and entertainment facilities. A prominent feature of the tower will be a two-storey restaurant at a height of around 40 metres, with a seating capacity of approximately 900 people. Above it, a terrace café will accommodate around 200 visitors.
At the top of the tower, a glass skywalk is proposed at 175 metres, offering panoramic views of the city and an immersive “walk-on-glass” experience.
Key Features of City Square
- Sky View: Observation gallery and glass skywalk at 175 metres
- Dining: 900-seat restaurant and terrace café at 40 metres
- Parking: Three-level basement parking for around 410 cars and 1,465 two-wheelers
- Entertainment: Amphitheatre with a seating capacity of about 450 people
- Urban Plaza: Ground-level food kiosks, landscaped gardens, and a water fountain
The ground floor will be developed as a vibrant public space featuring food kiosks, green areas, and a central water fountain. The project also includes a three-level basement parking facility to support the expected footfall. DesHgujarat
