Collector Approves Land for New District Court Complex in Surat
April 02, 2026
Surat: The district administration has allotted 77,951 sq m of land in Magdalla for a new Surat district court complex. Collector Sourabh Pardhi approved the land-use change for Final Plot No. 55 under TP Scheme-4 (Rundh-Magdalla) on Wednesday, following a high-power committee meeting at the Gujarat High Court on March 25.
The proposed complex, estimated at ₹181.11 crore, has already received funding approval. The land, earlier reserved for government staff quarters and storage by the roads and buildings department, will now be repurposed for judicial infrastructure.
Local advocates welcomed the move, saying the new complex will offer spacious courtrooms, better parking, and bring multiple courts under one roof. DeshGujarat
