IMD Issues Yellow Warning for Hot and Humid Weather in Parts of Gujarat Till April 17

Ahmedabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of hot and humid weather conditions across parts of Gujarat, particularly in coastal regions, over the next seven days.
According to the latest bulletin issued on April 11, dry weather prevailed across Gujarat, Saurashtra-Kutch, and the Union Territories of Diu, Daman, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli over the past 24 hours. However, maximum temperatures have risen noticeably in several areas and remain above normal in parts of Saurashtra, South Gujarat, and Kutch.
The IMD has forecast a gradual rise of 2–3°C in maximum temperatures over the next two days, after which temperatures are expected to stabilise with no significant change.
Hot and Humid Warning for Coastal Areas
Discomfort due to hot and humid conditions is very likely to persist in coastal areas of Saurashtra and Kutch from April 11 to April 17. Similar conditions are expected in coastal parts of mainland Gujarat from April 12 to April 17.
The department has indicated that such conditions may lead to increased discomfort, especially during daytime hours.
Ahmedabad Forecast
For Ahmedabad and adjoining areas, the weather is expected to remain mainly clear till the morning of April 12, with the maximum temperature likely to hover around 40°C.
Outlook
No significant change in weather conditions is expected during April 18–20, the IMD added. Authorities have advised residents, particularly in coastal regions, to take precautions against heat and humidity, stay hydrated, and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun. DeshGujarat
