After six days, the AMC moved its machinery to the river front area to open the land for project work.

On Saturday, around 2000 illegal units were removed.

According to AMC, as per the Gujarat High Court order,m Justice D.P.Buch committee is scrutinizing the names of slum dwellers. AMC’s official communication stated that a site and service has been created at Pirana for those slum dwellers who are yet to complete procedure of documents.

Meanwhile reacting to AMC’s operation, around 100 slum dwellers led by Congress leader Dipak Babariya rushed to Judges Bungalow area in the evening and sat outside the Chief Justice’s bungalow on dharna.

Dipak Babariya alleged that the AMC selected Saturday for this operation because High Court is closed for two days.

Late in the evening, police came into action and detained all those sitting on dharna.
