Gujarat HC orders to file fresh FIR in Ishrat Jahan fake encounter case

A bench of Gujarat High Court Justice Jayant Patel and Abhilasha Kumari today asked for a fresh FIR in Ishrat Jahan encounter case under section 302.
While Ishrat Jahan’s mother demanded National Investigation Agency(NIA) probe in this case, Javed Pillai has demanded SIT probe, the state government was of opinion that there was no need to file new FIR.
Special Investigation Team(SIT) had filed its report in Gujarat High Court last week, clearly stating that encounter of Ishrat Jahan and three others was fake and they were killed prior to the date of encounter on June 15, 2004.
