Gujarat govt to file review petition against translocation of lions

Gujarat Government has taken a decision to file review petition in Supreme Court to challenge the verdict directing translocation of lions to Madhya Pradesh.
Gujarat Government spokesperson minister Shri Nitin Patel today while briefing the media persons on state cabinet meeting said that the government will fight till the last option to stop translocation of lions outside the state.
It should be mentioned that the Supreme Court had in its verdict on Monday directed translocation of some of the lions in Gujarat to Madhya Pradesh’s Kuno-Palpur sanctuary.
Rajya Sabha MP Shri Parimal Nathwani, Gujarat Congress, and many wild life lovers in the state had expressed opinion that lions should stay in Gujarat only, and the state should take legal fight to further level.
