Gujarat govt orders 6 solar vehicle as pilot project(Video)

Gujarat Power Minister Saurabh Patel today said the state government has through Gujarat Power Corporation Limited(GPCL) ordered six solar powered vehicles. He said the vehicles for which tender is issued and ordered are already given will be put on road only inside the state secretariat campus for employees and visitors.
Patel said this is a new idea and considered as pilot project limited to Secretariat campus. He said the vehicles will arrive within two-three months.
He said the state government in second phase will purchase and put solar powered buses on road, however the state has not decided where to operate them. The state is collecting details on its cost and in process to identify possible route where it should be operated.
