Ahmedabad, 8 August 2014
There are number of photographs in circulation on social media featuring world’s biggest Hindu mandir, BAPS Swaminarayan mandir in Robbinsville, New Jersey, but unfortunately they are the wrong photographs. They actually show Torronto, Canada based BAPS mandir instead of under-construction Robbinsville Akshardham mandir which is going to be inaugurated by Pramukh Swami maharaj on 10 August. Some samples of photographs of Toronto mandir which are in circulation as Robbinsville mandir are presented below:
Construction of Robbinsville mandir will complete in year 2017 and it will look like this(the photo below this line) when completed:
The present construction of Robbinsville mandir is shown in video presented below(the last portion of the video):
The mandir is going to be opened on 10 August.
Pramukh Swami Maharaj is traveling abroad after seven years for inauguration of Robbinsville mandir. Presented below is a video featuring his America visit so far:

About the mandir in brief
-The biggest Hindu temple in India, the Sri Rangaswami mandir in Srirangam, Tamil Nadu, covers 155.92 acres.
-The Bochasanvasi Akshar Purushottam Sansthan (BAPS) has envisioned an Akshardham mandir at Robbinsville in New Jersey, US that will be spread over a mammoth 162 acres.
-The US project — named Akshardham Mahamandir — started in 2013 with a stone-laying ceremony, realizing the 15-year-old dream of Pramukh Swami.
-The work is going on at Rajasthan where more than 2,000 artisans are laboring over various parts of the mandir at Dungarpur, Pindwada and Sangwada. The finished parts are shipped to US where they are assembled by master craftsmen.
-Italian marble and marble from Rajasthan’s quarries is being used and the parts are shipped from Mundra, added officials. In US, a 5,000-strong team is looking after various aspects of the construction and design.
-The artisans have taken elements of both south and north Indian mandirs. The embellished mandir will have ornate pillars and panels depicting scenes from the Ramayana and Mahabharata and ancient scriptures. The halls will have full-size murtis of important leaders of the sect.
-The complex will be more than double the size of Akshardham in New Delhi which has an area of 59 acres. The main building will have four floors. The complex will have an exhibit dedicated to Indian history and culture, a youth activity center and much more.
-The intricately carved stone Mandir is 134 ft long and 87 ft wide, comprising of 108 pilars and three garbhgruhs. The entire mandir has been covered by a permanent canopy to ward of rain, heat and snow during darshan and rituals.
-After its opening the BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, like all its other mandirs, will not only be a centre of Hindu rituals, celebrations and discourses but also a hub of services to society related to health, moral education, relief work in times of calamity and serving the needy.
-The mandir will enshrine the images of Shri Akshar-Purushotam Maharaj, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj, Shri Guru Parampara and the deities of Sanatan Dharma.
