A board of directors meeting of Talala marketing yard has taken a decision to name the yard after Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

A meeting chaired by Chairman Kirit Patel expressed feeling that the market yard was established in year 2000, but in all these 15 years, the market yard was without any title. Chairman’s proposal of naming the market yard after Sardar Patel was approved unopposed by all 14 directors.

Talala is Gujarat’s top market yard when it comes to mango trade. Gujarat’s famous Kesar mango reaches various parts of the world mainly from Talala market yard.

A meeting of board of directors also took a decision to construct a new Rs. 38 lakh shade, main gate, a new canteen to provide meal facility for farmers in mango season. These and other proposals worth Rs. 50 lakh have been sent to government.
