More details on UN Secretary General’s visit

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will hold talks with the country’s top leadership and participate in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit in Gandhinagar during his four-day visit beginning tomorrow.
Ban will meet President Pranab Mukherjee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar among others during the visit, his fourth to India as the UN Secretary-General.
He will be accompanied by his wife Yoo Soon-taek and a team of senior officials.
The Secretary General and his delegation will leave for Gandhinagar tomorrow evening where he will deliver a keynote speech at the Inaugural Session of the 7th Vibrant Gujarat Summit on January 11.
His visit to Gujarat include a tour of Sabarmati Ashram and inauguration of the 10 MW Canal -Top Solar Power Plant in Vadodara.
The UN Secretary General is also scheduled to meet Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi.
On January 12, Ban is expected to deliver the 13th Sapru House Lecture, organised by the Indian Council of World Affairs.
He would conclude his visit to India on January 13, following his meetings with UN staff and heads of UN agencies working in India.
