Narmada bridge at Bharuch to be completed before schedule:Gadkari

Ongoing construction work on river Narmada in Bharuch will be completed ahead of the schedule. This has been stated by Union Minister of Road Transport Highways and Shipping Nitin Gadkari.
In response to Rajya Sabha MP Ahmed Patel’s letter, Union Minister has in his letter dated 17 March 2015 stated, “I have got the matter regarding construction of a new bridge and heavy traffic on the existing bridge across the River Narmada on National Highway – 8 in Bharuch district, Gujarat examined in consultation with National Highway Authority of India(NHAI), who have informed that the construction work on new Narmada Bridge …… with a construction period of 30 months is well ahead of the schedule and is expected to be completed before scheduled completion date.”
On 20th January, 2015, Ahmed Patel had written to Shri Nitin Gadkari urging him to ensure speedy construction of the new Narmada Bridge in Bharuch, as traffic condition on the existing bridge had worsened. Ahmed Patel who has been at the forefront for commissioning an additional bridge in order to decongest the existing bridge.
Scheduled date of completion of this project as per all records is September 2016.
