Administration standstill: BJP hits out at AAP govt

New Delhi

BJP today lashed out at AAP government in Delhi alleging that there is standstill in the administration as bureaucrats had stopped taking decisions on files because of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s habit to speak about file notings at public platforms, creating uneasiness among officials.

“For four months now, officers, instead of making recommendations or noting objections on files, are simply forwarding them and there are heaps of undecided files in the Chief Minister’s office today. The situation is such that even the Ministers fear taking decisions.

“This standstill in administration has come because of the attitude of the Chief Minister to speak about file noting from public platforms creating an uneasy situation for officials,” said a statement quoting BJP’s Delhi unit president Satish Upadhyay.

“Though Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is the Minister in-charge for Services, it is actually the Secretary to the Chief Minister, Rajendra Kumar who is running this government and is feared by both the bureaucrats and the ministers,” he alleged.

“Since 1993, Delhi has seen 5 governments, but this is first time that Secretary to the Chief Minister is also Secretary, Services. This is Kejriwal’s way of keeping a tab both on officials and the ministers,” he said.

The Delhi BJP president also alleged that Rakhi Bidlan, AAP’s Mangolpuri MLA, had “connived” in purchasing solar street light, CCTV units at a higher price and rued over the delay in appointment of Lokayukta in the state.

“A latest RTI revelation states that Rakhi Bidlan connived in purchasing a Solar Street Light worth 15,000 at Rs 1 lakh and bought a CCTV unit worth 10,000 at Rs 6 lakh,” he said adding, this is just one of the many similar frauds.

“We have reports of similar purchases by 6 MLAs including another former minister. In the absence of a Lokayukta we are examining the possibility of filing a Police FIR in such matters,” the statement added.
