Modhera Sun Temple Uttarardh Festival today/tomorrow
January 16, 2016
Modhera
A two-day long Uttarardh Mahotsav which showcases classical dances and music on the backdrop of over 1,000 years old Modhera sun temple in north Gujarat. This festival is celebrated since 1992. Earlier it was a three-day long festival, but for last few years it has been converted into a two-day festival. With special permission of Archaeological Survey of India(ASI), the temple is decorated with lights on this occasion. Unfortunately, this year the Gujarat Tourism has failed to make any publicity for this event. Even on Gujarat Tourism website, the schedule and details of this festival are absent. As it is classical dance festival, local villagers in and around Modhera are not much interested in this festival. However curiosity bring them to the venue in good number.
