Two children from Gujarat to get bravery award on Republic day

Two children from Gujarat are selected for bravery award that shall be presented to them on the occassion of Republic day this month. They are among 25 such children nationwide.
Rakesh Patel(13) from Dahod district’s Rivavari village of Devgadh Bariya belt rescued 6-year-old Dinesh Patel last year on 14th June from 20 ft deep well. Orphan child Rakesh was sitting near his home when he heard some people shouting about the incident. Rakesh jumped into the well and pulled out Dinesh by holding his hair. The well was full of weeds and insects. Rakesh had learnt swimming in early childhood.
Ahmedabad based Kashish Dhanani, another winner of bravery award had rescued his 15-month old sister from mouth of violent German shepherd dog. The incident took place in December – 2014 in Makarba area of city.
