Hardik Patel’s bail plea rejected in Visnagar case

Man who pushed Gujarat to violence in last August has suffered another setback. Visnagar court in north Gujarat has rejected his bail plea.
Now almost defunct Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti(PAAS) head Hardik Patel has filed bail plea in Visnagar violence case on February 3 for which hearing was held on February 6.
Seeking Other Backward Class(OBC) status and benefits of reservation for Patidar community, Hardik had taken out a rally that turned violent in Visnagar town of north Gujarat on July 24 last year. Five journalists and a cameraman from Mehsana were injured and their mobile and camera were stolen. A Vehicle was burnt and MLA’s office was attacked in Visnagar after this rally.
Additional Sessions Judge KM Dave, while rejecting Hardik’s bail plea observed that he was facing sedition charges and might misled the witnesses if was granted bail.
Hardik is in Lajpor jail in Surat for sedition charges.
