Vadodara
Proposed Railway University in Vadodara which was as per earlier plan was to come up in existing National Academy of Indian Railways(NAIR) campus in city will now come up in separate campus possibly over 31 acre plot on Vaghodia-Pipariya road.
As per original plan, the university was to come up in NAIR campus but later it was felt that the campus would be too small for proposed university and therefore there should be a separate campus.
In response to demand of land by Railways department, the State government gave option of three locations – Padra, Desar and Vaghodia-Pipariya road.
A team of railway officials visited all three sites and selected 31 acre lad on Vadhodia-Piparia road.
Till the time, building of new university is constructed, the students will use M.S. University facilities. Academic activity is likely to kick start from upcoming academic year with introduction of M.Tech and MBA courses. Once the university building is ready, Diploma and B.Tech courses will also be launched.
