Gandhinagar: Following the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, the Union government has ordered the cancellation of visas issued to Pakistani nationals. Accordingly, around 438 Pakistani nationals living in Gujarat will be deported. According to the Home Department, 438 Pakistani nationals currently reside in Gujarat on long-term visas—77 in Ahmedabad, 50 in Kutch, and 44 in Surat. Delhi: The number of Indian fishermen arrested by Pakistan off the Gujarat coast has notably decreased in recent years. Last year, Pakistan arrested only 9 fishermen in 2023, and only 19 so far in 2024 when over a half of year has passed.  This is a major drop compared to previous years when larger numbers were detained annually.
