Hindu wedding procession attacked in Shahpur,properties,vehicles burnt

Minority Hindus were again attacked in Ahmedabad’s Shahpur area where Muslims are in majority now.
According to primary information available, some shops and one auto-rickshaw are torched. Police lobbed more than one dozen tear gas shells to control the rioting crowds. It tool one hour to control riot.
On late Monday evening, local police blocked Delhi Darwaja-Mirzapur road. Those Injured in riot were taken to V.S. hospital. Fire brigade rushed to the place to control fire.
What happened actually?
Devipoojak community’s wedding procession was on way at around 10 pm in Shahpur’s Nagoriwad area. Some Muslims coming out from Nagori Ahmedi mosque asked them to lower down the voice which was unacceptable to Devipoojak Hindus. Here then the Muslims started stone and soda bottle pelting after short verbal argument. They were responded well by the other side in same way. But as Hindus are in minority here now, The Muslims burnt 3 houses, 7 shops and 6 rickshaws to ash. Six police constables were injured by Muslims while trying to control the situation. The crowds did not allow fire brigade vehicles to enter their locality.
Once Shahpur was Hindu dominated area. However the area turned into Muslim locality after many Hindu properties cornered by Muslims during riots were sold. The Congress MLA has replaced BJP MLA in this area.
