Leadership is settled issue in BJP, Modi only viable PM candidate: Arun Shourie(Video)

By our correspondent, Vadodara, DeshGujarat 10 March 2013

India’s one of the most respected journalists, former union minister, BJP intellect Shri Arun Shourie was in Vadodara in Gujarat today to deliver Manubhai Shroff memorial lecture. On the sideline of the function, Shri Shourie briefly interacted with the media persons and gave answers of few questions. One of the questions was about Shri Narendra Modi’s possible national role. Shri Shourie had no two opinions about this, and in his straight forward answer he said that it was a settled issue and Modi was the only viable candidate at this time. The talk is presented in video above.

Media persons: Would you like to say something on national leadership issue when it comes to BJP?

Arun Shourie:
I think that is the settled issue. I think it’s a done deal. Narendra Modi is the leader of the BJP, and on that(issue) there’s no doubt. And BJP worker, a river(of party workers) is with him. There’s some frost over it and leaders sitting over there, but whether they are or they are not, they shall (ultimately) go in same direction only.

Media persons:
Do you think he will be inducted to parliamentary board?

Arun Shourie:
I don’t know anything about BJP’s internal affairs.

Media persons:Do you think Mr. Narendra Modi is candidate for PM’s post?

Arun Shourie: I had said that much before.

Media persons: Sir please say it again.

Arun Shourie:(He laughed and said) at this time, he is the only viable candidate.
