Hindu Council of Africa has started a programme for renovation of existing temples and construction of new temples in Kutch district’s border area villages.

A programme for renovation and strengthening of existing Hindu mandirs and construction of new mandirs in border area villages kicked off at Hajipir with ground breaking ceremony for construction of a new Hanuman mandir on Makar Sankranti day.

According to Council’s first Kutchi president Muljibhai Lalji Pindoria, the programme covers not just renovation and construction of mandirs, but awareness and education aspects also.

The council members donated woolen cloths and grain in East-Banni villages.

According to Pindoria, Hindu council will extend its help for repairing of Naranji dada mandir in Luna, Ram mandirs in Bhitara and Gorewali, Mataji mandir in Madhavnagar and Ramdev mandir in Dumado.

Border welfare committee’s Himmatsinh Vasa, Bharat Gorasia, Devji Ahir, Shanti Thakkar, Ravji Khetani, Luna’s Sachubhai Koli, Gorewali’s Karsan Koli, Bhirandiyara’s Malik Koli, Bijal Marwada etc attended a simple function on this occasion at Bhirandiyara Ekal vidyalaya.

Council has extended its support to awareness programmes in border villages. One such programme will be held at Tappar village of Anjar taluka on 25 January.
