900 shifted to safe locations, 216 rescued in flood-hit north Gujarat

Gujarat government today in a statement said that 900 people were shifted to safer places in last 72 hours in flood-hit Banaskantha and Patan districts of north Gujarat by 15 NDRF teams.

3 teams of NDRF have shifted over 400 people to safer locations in Rajasthan’s Zalor district, while 6 teams are in action at various places in Rajasthan like Jaipur, Udaipur and Pali.

According to the details shared by relief commissioner of Gujarat, 216 people have been rescued. 4 helicopters of Air Force are involved into relief and rescue tasks in Banaskantha and Patan districts. Army, BSF and SRP’s five companies are active in Suigam, Deesa and Tharad areas. 3 more companies have been sent to Kutch.

4 lakh food packets are being prepared at Mahesana, Ahmedabad, Ambaji etc places.

150 teams in Banaskantha, 180 in Kutch, 97 in Surendranagar and 62 teams in Morbi are working for restoration of power.

Water supply through tanker has been arranged in flood-hit districts. 12 Sanjivan rath, 14 rashtriya bal swasthya vehicles have been moved. 80 teams of health department are active. Banaskantha, Kutch and Patan have been pfovided grant from SDRF in initial phase.Additional kerosene supply has been allocated.
