Mahesana

A 22 year old Gujarati youth, who had gone to the USA to pursue higher studies, was shot dead by an unidentified negro criminal in Louisville city of Kentucky state there.

Maulik Patel, a native of Ambasan village in Mahesana, was talking over his mobile phone yesterday when the criminal tried to snatch it from him. When he resisted the criminal shot at him killing him on the spot.

Son of a teacher in Jugdan, Maulik had gone to the USA on student’s visa around one a half year ago to pursue higher studies. He used to live their with his sister.

This is at least third incident of killing of a person of Gujarati origin in the USA.

Earlier in January this year unidentified criminals shot dead a 33 year old man, a native of Umreth in Anand district, in Los Angeles in South California. Prior to that a native of Bochasan in Anand district living in Virginia was killed.

Over 15 people of Gujarati origin have been killed in such incidents on foreign soil in last one and a half year. In US alone the figure was around 10. Incidentally most of the murders were committed by negro (black) criminals.
