Do clean public statues daily: new Municipal Commissioner of Vadodara
July 07, 2016
Vadodara: New Municipal Commissioner of Vadodara Mr. Rao has directed Vadodara Municipal Corporation(VMC) staff to clean statues at public place across the city on daily basis. So far the statues are cleaned only when some major event of festival is closer. Vadodara is perhaps the richest city in terms of quality and number of public statues and sculptures. That’s due to Gaekwads who always encouraged such activity and also due to MS University’s related departments that have offered some of best artists. New Commissioner Rao is aggressive when it comes to implementation of Swachch Bharat Abhiyan. He recently had launched quick response teams for cleaning drive. Citizens can give a phone call when they spot garbage, and have cleaning teams at their place in two hours time. Rao was district collector when Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi had contested Vadodara Lok Sabha seat in year 2014.
