Vadodara:If you find garbage anywhere in Vadodara Municipal Corporation(VMC) controlled area between 10 am and 7 pm you can take its photograph and send message through WhatsApp messenger, or can simply send SMS on mobile number 99131-66 66 66. A quick response team of VMC will reach that place and remove garbage in two hours.

City Mayor Bharat Dangar made this announcement. The new initiative has been titled as ‘Nirmalayam’. Sharing further details, new municipal commissioner Dr Vinod Rao said, “garbage from door to door contractor vehicles will be received on 24X7 basis now onward. So far garbage is received at Altadra depot only after 9 am.”

He said the city will witness night cleaning drive. Grievance redressal will be reviewed everyday.

He said the new service of 99131-66 66 66 will be made as effective as emergency services like 108 and 181.

Mayor Bharat Dangar said VMC will collect fine from those not following cleanliness related rules. He said VMC has 200 vehicles, 3500 sweepers involved in cleanliness work. 100 persons will dedicatedly work as Quick Response Team. Complains other than garbage and cleanliness will be received on toll free number 1800 233 0265.
