1,09,520 youths offered jobs at 12 Mega Job Fairs: Gujarat govt shares figures

Gandhinagar: The Gujarat government today claimed that over one lakh youths were given jobs during 11-17 February in 12 mega job fairs organized across the state. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on twitter late in the evening yesterday. Today in capital Gandhinagar, the govt shared exact figure wise details. It was announced that total 1,09,520 youths were offered jobs during the mega job fair week. Among them highest wee given jobs at Rajkot mega job fair while lowest at Gandhidham mega job fair.
According to Chief Secretary JN Singh, 2,184 employers had registered 1,42,970 vacant posts. The companies offered jobs such as skilled and semi skilled workers, supervisors, engineers, managers, customer care representatives. 88,053 gent and 21,017 ladies are given jobs. 144 divyangs are also employed in these job fairs. 56,742 are selected for manufacturing sector jobs while 52,778 in service sector. 5,555 apprentice candidates including384 women candidates are recruited in civic bodies/ public sector enterprises/industrial and professional units. The state government had made arrangement for free ST bus travel coupons, local bus travel, food packets etc.
